Staining concrete is one of the most popular applications for transforming concrete slabs. Acid Wash (Acid-Based)Most acid stains are a mixture of water, hydrochloric acid, and acid-soluble metallic salts. They work by penetrating the surface and reacting chemically with the hydrated lime (calcium hydroxide) in the concrete.

Water and Solvent-Based DyesWater-based and solvent-based dyes are used to deepen the color of stained concrete. There are several differences between these two types of solvents, but the main difference is that solvent-based dyes provide deeper, richer colors.
